Ladies Afloat Days in Cruising Committee
Posted By: RSrn Website Team Read By 22 Visitors
. As the new 2008 season is now upon us, you might like to make a note of the dates of our outings this Summer.

April 30th, May 21st, June 11th, July 16th, Aug 6th, Sept 10th
As you may know, “Ladies Afloat” is a once a month, Wednesday outing when Ladies who perhaps do not have the opportunity to sail as much as they may wish, are encouraged to have a day out in company on a members’ boat.
No experience is necessary and whilst it is not an instructional course, the ladies are very welcome to join in the sailing/helming/sail trimming activities (or simply enjoy watching & chatting to the others) as they wish.
We meet in the upstairs bar at 10:00am for a coffee & a chat about where we propose to go before setting off, usually to an anchorage for a leisurely lunch. In the afternoon, another sail, then head back to the Club, typically by around 17:00. It’s usually lots of fun!
A charge of £2 will be made, to cover the costs of coffee/tea for both the participant and the Skippers. This
will be collected in the top bar on the day.
Please bring lunch with you for eating onboard. You should provide enough for yourself and the Skipper(s).
Please bring food that does not create too many crumbs! The following are just some ideas:
Salad – green, mixed, coleslaw, carrot, tomatoes or/and coleslaw plus dressing.
Cold Meats – Ham, salami, cooked sausages/chipolatas, pate.
Quiches, Pork pies, game pie, scotch eggs, hard-boiled eggs.
Sandwiches/ Rolls. Not French bread as too many crumbs!
Bottle Of Wine!
Water – probably best if everyone brings their own.
Fruit and Chocolates
Tea Bags/Coffee Powder
Please keep plates and washing up to a minimum
In order that the food is not duplicated, could you please contact SARAH HETHERINGTON so she can try
and sort it!!
Tel: 01489 892623 sarah@palacemews.clara.co.uk
If you’d like to join us please ring Rebecca in the Office by the Friday before so that we know how many boats are needed.
A ‘weather call’ will be made prior to the day.
We look forward to seeing you!
Bryan Hughes, (Karisma). 07831 851900.
