Often when thinking about trying something different, do you often feel that you don't know where to start? Do you think that all the buzz words and protocols seem terribly confusing?
Fear not! Clay shooting is fun and if you have never shot before come along with fellow club members to one of our mid week shoots - bring non members as your guests - all are welcome.
Novice shooters and first timers, whether male or female, young or of more mature years, are well provided for with tuition, gun loan and sound guidance.
We run four club shoots each year at venues within an acceptable journey time of Hamble. In addition ten Solent based yacht clubs run inter club competitions in April and October - which is a great demonstration as to how popular clay shooting has become since the sport started as a winter pursuit some eight years ago at a time of year when our boats are laid up.
Our club days include typically refreshments on arrival, mid morning sustenance and a hearty simple lunch as well as 80 clay targets across 8 'stands' plus the finale of 80 clay flush! They are to be priced modestly for 2009 and will represent real value for money.
Also for 2009 our key prize sponsors - Michel Herbelin - will continue to provide a range of fine watches to reward the best improvement for participants who come to any three of our four events.
So whether you are an established 'old hand' or a novice do come along to our first 2009 shoot at Wylye Valley Shooting Ground, North West of Salisbury - next to the junction A36/A303 on Tuesday 17th February 2009. Formal notice of shoot will be published in early January with all the details you seek.
Other dates to note: 24th March - Lains Shooting School, Quarley.
6th May - Widdington Farm, Upavon.
8th September - Compton Manor, Kings Somborne. |
