| Friday 23rd April 2010 - Bramshaw G.C. Forest Course |
The original course The Forest, is the oldest in Hampshire. It was build privately on New Forest Heathland in about 1865 and became the Bramshaw Forest Course when the Club was formed in 1880. The ever changing Scenery of humps, hollows and meandering streams test golfing skills and judgement within an idyllic New Forest setting.
The roaming ponies and deer add to the charm of the Forest Course, and many prefer to play it for its beauty and old-fashioned test of golfing skills.
The prospect of a deer emerging from the trees or a mare and her foal on the fairway gives the Forest Course a special and unique appeal. |

| Thursday 20th May 2010 - Lee on the Solent G.C. |
Lee on the Solent is a rare jewel in terms of modern golf trends. This parkland/ heathland style of course is over 100 years old but had managed to resist the standard of extending its length in answer to modern technology improvements in equipment.
The course measures just 5962 yards from the back tees but with a par of 69 really does set a very good test for all standards of golfer.
Accuracy is a must and course strategy is of the utmost importance to plot your way around.
An unusual point is the course comprises of back-t0-back par fives on the front half and back-to-back par threes on the back nine. |
|
 |
The five par threes are one of the reasons for the overall lack in Lee's yardage but all are excellent and very different challenges. Varying in length from the 145 yard 9th with its two tier green and protective hazard for those under clubbing, through to the 216 yard 14th which requires a long and accurate shot to avoid the Out of Bounds on the left and the bunker and slope to the right.
All in all this course offers an enjoyable days golf for all levels of player. |
