| For the second year running, the Barbados Tourism Authority is providing
a stunning prize for the most consistently successful competitor in the
Royal Southern Yacht Club Summer Series Regattas that commenced with the
Club's May Regatta last weekend of 11-12 May. |
| The winner will exchange the cooler waters of the Solent for the
warm azure waters around Barbados and will enjoy scheduled air travel,
hotel accommodation and the full social programme that surrounds the
78th Round Barbados Race, scheduled to take place on Tuesday, 21 January
2014. |

| The Royal Southern Yacht Club's
innovative short course racing season got underway on Saturday (18th
May) in sunshine and a light breeze that saw those trying out the new
format get around the course, as promised, in an hour. This newly
introduced for 2013 Harken Saturday Series fell victim to high winds
earlier in May but showed its potential in more relaxed conditions from
a start at Bald Head. |
| 'It was a very nice day for sailing,
much nicer than we expected,' said Colin Hall, who helmed Boysterous to
a corrected 1 minute 17 second win. |
