Two Royal Southern teams lead their classes at the end of day 2.  Chris Body, sailing J/122 El Ocaso, now leads Class 5, with four firsts, while Scarlet Oyster, an Oyster 48, is joint leader in Class 6, with 1,2,1,4.
Today’s conditions were much lighter, with winds of 10 knots for the morning race, dropping to 6/7 in the afternoon.

Congratulations! Royal Southern Team Wins Round Antigua Race
First in class by a substantial margin and beaten only by two professional crews for the overall trophy, our team, racing in 'Scarlet Oyster' came third overall and first in class in the 50 mile Round the Island race in Antigua on Saturday (23rd April).
After a hotly contested start, 'Scarlet Oyster' found clear air and after a couple of quick tacks she pulled away from the fleet, increasing her lead on every leg to the finish.

The Royal Southern Yacht Club will host and run the inaugural 'Hamble Classics at the Southern' Regatta on 24-25th September 2016.
Today it announces the publication of its Notice of Race (NoR) including eligibility criteria and an attractive entry fee structure.
The International Metre classes, Classic Racers and Cruisers, Spirit of Tradition yachts plus Old Gaffers and Dayboats will enjoy the superb facilities at one of the UK's top yacht clubs, with first class race management and a social programme to match.

The Royal Southern Yacht Club has been granted the exclusive right by the Island Sailing Club (ISC) to be the mainland HUB Club for this year's Round the Island Race, the last under J.P. Morgan's 12-year title sponsorship.
The Royal Southern, who also acted as a South Coast HUB in 2015, will be showing the Race EventTV feed throughout the weekend (Friday 1st-Sunday 3rd July 2016) that includes Friday evening's live coverage of the Raymarine Weather Brief, live coverage of Saturday's starts, competitor notices/information and the ISC's full classified results service.
