| More from the Royal Southern Yacht Club Trust |
| First, a progress report on the first recipients of grants from the Trust: we were delighted that Andrew Sinclair did not just to go to Eurocat 2008 in the RYA Hobie Dragoon team, but came back with the 1st prize having counted only wins on his score card. Well done Andrew. |
| Hamble Sea Scouts now have new sails for one of the Bosun dinghies, while the other three recipients are currently still preparing for their big events. |
Future Plans
Those of you who were at the Club's AGM will recall that Fr John Travers outlined future plans for the Trust. These included twice yearly awards in March and September, the formation of the 'Friends of the Trust', and the opportunity to consider the Trust for bequests, perhaps in memory of friends or family. Now that the first grants have been awarded, we thought it was timely to bring these plans forward to members.
They will continue to operate within the Trust's main objective:
'The advancement of amateur sport and in particular the provision of facilities and assistance to enable and encourage participation in sailing or yachting'. |
