A very warm welcome to the Royal Southern Yacht Club's 2008 Racing Programme.

Here on the Racing home page you will find links to the latest news, results and files.
We could not host these events without the expertise and support of our volunteer members and staff, both afloat and ashore, so I take this opportunity to thank them all.

I wish you all fair winds and enjoyable sailing in 2008.

Royal Southern Yacht Club Announces Exciting Race Programme For 2008
The Royal Southern Yacht Club at Hamble has announced an exciting racing programme for 2008.

New Sailing Secretary, Lucy Burn, who joined the Royal Southern from the RYA last August, has planned the greatest number of racing events ever organised by the Club in a single season.

Royal Southern Regattas are competitive and great fun both on and off the water. The Royal Southern has a unique waterside location on the River Hamble and its facilities include 11 interior designed, ensuite bedrooms and excellent bar and dining facilities, including wet bar and terrace overlooking the water.

The Monthly Club Regattas held in May, June, July and September are open to all IRC and Sportsboat classes and the May, June and September events now include a Level Racing Series for the 45ft and 52ft classes.

This year the Royal Southern will also be host to a J109 Multi-Race Series, held over three race days on 2lst June, 19th July and 20th September. Each race day comprise of 3 races.

The Women's Open Keelboat Championships 2008 will take place on 7th and 8th June.
This brand new event aims to attract female racing sailors to a weekend of high quality racing across a range of keelboats. There are no advertising restrictions and any level female sailor can enter.

The Royal Southern's biggest event this Summer will be the ''J Cup'' Regatta in May with 100 entries ranging from J80s to J144s with around 400 competitors and the Club will once again host the SB3s 'Solent Cup' and the Contessa 32s Nationals - in all a busy season afloat.
