The Royal Southern Yacht Club is delighted to be hosting the first ever Class 40 World Championship in Hamble from Tuesday 18th - Friday 21st August.
The Notice of Race and Entry Forms are now available to download from the Club's download page as well as a detailed competitor information document to help with planning and logistics.
The Class 40 was granted provisional ISAF recognition following ISAF's mid year meeting in May, allowing them to host their first official World Championship this year.
The programme of racing will include a race around the Isle of Wight as well as a mixture of coastal and long windward, leeward style races. Breakfast is included in the entry as well as a Crew dinner and live band on the Thursday evening. All competing yachts will be moored in front of the Royal Southern for the duration of the event.
Commodore of the Royal Southern, John Beardsley enthused "the Club is delighted to be hosting the Class 40 World Championships this year. Indeed it is an honour and a pleasure for us to host their first World Class event."
Principal Race Officer, Tony Lovell, commented "a varied and exciting programme of racing has been organised. My job is to ensure that our team of race officers, on and off the water, work hard to ensure the highest standard of race management."
