The success of the Club’s racing events relies on the Race Officers and Volunteers who put in their time and effort. It can also be fun and sociable!
We would like to invite all members to indicate whether they would be interested in helping the Club during the 2010 sailing season, either as a Race Officer, Mark Layer, Assistants or by providing a Committee Boat or RIB.
If you have not been a Race Officer before, don't let this put you off, there are roles for all levels of experience, enthusiasm is key! Why not join us for the 2010 Race Officers Training Days on Saturday 27th February (Shore based) and Saturday 27th March (Afloat)?
In an effort to help ensure each race team has all the skills required, please indicate the roles you are happy doing (first section on the attached form) along with your current qualifications/experience, and the events with which you are happy to be involved with (second section). Once completed please email or post the forms back to the Sailing Office.
It is important that we keep a record of your current email address and mobile numbers for communication on the lead up to events and then during events (this is where a mobile number is particularly important.)
We will confirm which events we would like your assistance with as soon as possible, please bear with us, if this is not immediate as it does take time to assemble the lists and teams.
The Royal Southern has a terrific reputation for running excellent racing, and it is all thanks to the members who volunteer their time on the water to make it happen.
Thank you for your help and support - we very much hope you will be able to support us again.
