RSrnYC Optimist Flotilla Update – 11th May.
16 RSrnYC Optimist sailors attended the first of our RSrnYC Optimist Flotilla sessions last Saturday. The weather conditions were great and enabled everyone to enjoy nearly 2 hours afloat. It is really encouraging to see the enthusiasm of the sailors and I am sure that they will soon begin to have several aspects of the IOCA grades completed whilst they develop their sailing skills. Bring along your log books for each session and we can begin to sign off the respective aspects that will contribute to completing the IOCA grades.
The next session is planned for Saturday 6th June. Unfortunately the tide is again not quite right for us, that therefore requires a prompt start at 1:00pm. We hope to see a few more sailors at the next event and welcome anyone that couldn’t make the last session. Please complete the RSrnYC flotilla registration form via the club website, Youth section, if you have not already done so.
We will be touch during the week leading up to the 6th June to confirm those attending and put in place the support plan for the activities afloat.
I would also like to say thank you to those parents and sailors who attended. Your support and participation made it very enjoyable. If you do have any feedback or comments to improve things please don’t hesitate to let Charlie or I know your thoughts.
Thanks
Stuart Childerley. |
