Splash is the junior youth group of the Club.
We have an active social and sailing program for all levels of sailing experience.

 Our youngest Splashers start out learning to row in PEANUTS. These are specially designed single man rowing boats for children as young as 3. Parents provide tuition and rescue boat support (although we require Power Boat level 2 certification as a minimum for all rescue boat drivers).

Splashers are divided into groups, based predominantly on age. Group leaders are selected from parent volunteers. Although we don't offer formal RYA training, we follow the IOCA training program and encourage children to gain their RYA and IOCA certificates through local centers.

Once sufficiently competent, children are encouraged to take part in Open meetings and the National Championships.

Splashers graduate to Junior Cadets at the age of 13, most moving onto the LASER 4.7.
In the Junior Cadet group, children are grouped on the water according to ability while their social activities remain age-based.

Above all, Splash is about having fun. Parents put in some hard work both on and off the water but the rewards are numerous, as you watch your child make friends and progress from a Novice to a National Champion!
