Visit to the South Downs Planetarium, Chichester

Visit to the South Downs Planetarium, Chichester
Wednesday October 4th 2017 at 10.00 hrs.

Organiser: Ann Arscott email : annarscott2@talktalk.net  07778815352

Our visit will start with Coffee and Biscuits, and will be followed at 10.30 a.m. by a talk by Dr. John Mason in the Star Theatre.
He will describe the stars and planets which can be seen on that day, and will take us on an imaginary journey, by boat, from Portsmouth to Australia, using the stars visible on October 4th 2017 for navigation.

The majority of us will not be familiar with navigating by star sights, but is might be a handy skill to acquire should your GPS fail!

Please see the planetarium's website for more information.
www.southdowns.org.uk

After the talk: Chichester is a lovely old city with lots of retail therapy opportunities and restaurants for lunch

I look forward to seeing you.

Ann
