|Date||Saturday, May 1, 2021 (all day)|
The Solent Cruiser Race is a typical Cruiser Race where you can use your engine for half your elapsed time on each of the 3 legs.
There is the Rum Keg Trophy for the winner and a glass for the boat with the least percentage of engine time. There will be a pontoon party in Bucklers Hard on Saturday evening and drinks at the Cowes Corinthian Yacht Club followed by supper at the I.S.C. on Sunday night.
If you don’t want to race just come for the parties.
Legs are as follows:
A handicapping system was developed by the late Angus Primrose to allow for yachts to motor for half the elapsed time of each leg, so it includes details on the engine including horsepower and the type of propeller. There is a penalty for over motoring. We also give a prize for the least percentage of engine time on both Cruiser Races.
