| Details | Newtown is almost the only harbour in the Solent where you can anchor, but there are a few moorings which are owned by the National Trust. We have been lucky in the last couple of years with the warm weather and we have been able to enjoy a BBQ on the beach on the West side of the entrance. It is always great fun and many of the crews go ashore on the following day for a walk. There is a good walk inland to Shalfleet or on the west side to Hampstead and for those more adventurous to Yarmouth.
