The Wine Committee’s first event in 2019 brings together young Clarets from 2015 to mature classed growths from 2007 and 2000. The tasting will feature Cru Classé wines from Pauillac, St Julien, Margaux and Graves, and dinner offers a choice of two courses with your own choice of Claret, plus Premier Cru 2001 Sauternes – a combination of fine wines and food not to be missed.
The tasting of one white and seven red Bordeaux wines is £20 pp (tasting only) - amazing value for wines of this class.
A 3 course dinner starting with grilled mackerel fillet, followed by a choice of Steak and Kidney Pie or Pasta bake (v) for main course. This includes a 125ml glass of your choice of claret, and then blue cheese or tropical fruits to go with your Sauternes, all for £35 pp* (dinner only)
Book both the tasting and dinner together for £48pp.
Some of these wines retail for £100 a bottle, and goodness knows what they would charge in a West End restaurant – if you can find them! So take advantage of our ex-cellar prices and enjoy Classic Clarets at the Southern.
