This Monday we are bringing you five ideas for staying home, staying active and staying involved in sailing!
We know that you will be itching to get on the water just as we are, and the sunshine and perfect breeze have now been teasing us all for weeks on end. But with these activities you can make sure that when we eventually get to slide back into our oilies and feel the wind on our face, we will be just as fit and sharp as ever.
1 - Royal Southern eSailing Events
The Royal Southern Academy is excited to present a brand new set of eSailing Regattas! Virtual sailing is the closest we can get at the moment, so we are making the most of it with a regatta series to come together and race with our friends. Events will take place from 1900 on Thursdays throughout April, with the first two events being part of the eSailing Series (open to all) and the following two comprising our qualifier for the RYA eSailing Spring Club Championship (members only).
If you want to know more about eSailing through Virtual Regatta, then you can find out more on the RYA website - https://www.rya.org.uk/Pages/virtual-regatta.aspx. Otherwise, have a play and join in the fun!

4 - RYA Online Courses
Even if we can't get out on the water, there's still plenty of knowledge to absorb and qualifications to achieve! If you are finding yourself with extra time to use up, maybe this is the perfect opportunity to spend some time growing your certificate collection.
There are several RYA courses which can now be done online, without leaving the comfort of your home. Find some options below:

5 - VRSport.tv 2017 J/70 Europeans
And if you're not interested in pretending you're still sailing, or looking forward to the sailing you will do when everything has died down, maybe you would prefer to look back at some brilliant footage of a blustery 2017 J/70 European Championships (note this footage is only free until Tuesday 7th morning):
