On Tuesday the 21st January, the Fundraising Team hosted its very first Quiz & Curry Night —and what a night it was! With an impressive turnout of 115 guests, this inaugural event kicked off our 2025 fundraising efforts in style. Organised to support Mountbatten Hampshire and Wet Wheels, the evening was led with laughter, camaraderie, and some friendly competition.
Our quizmaster for the night, the ever-entertaining Frank Dixie, kept the energy high with his inventive quiz categories and his famously dodgy jokes, which had everyone groaning and giggling in equal measure.
The evening raised approximately £550 for these two remarkable charities. A heartfelt ‘thank you’ goes to Frank and to everyone who attended and contributed to making the night such fun and a success. Your support truly makes a difference.
- The Winners
- 1st Place: Went to The Fifty Shades of the Jolly Rogers, with an impressive 57 points.
- 2nd Place: The Magnificent 7, finishing just one point behind with 56.
- Last Place: Highflyers, who scored 35 points and won the wooden spoon and our admiration for their enthusiasm.
- Best Team Name: “Knot Only Buoys”—a creative touch that didn’t go unnoticed!
