Becoming a Member gives you access to our facilities both on and off the water, as well as making you part of one of the most diverse and active yacht Clubs in the Solent.

The Royal Southern Yacht Club, as well as residing in a unrivalled waterside location on the banks of the River Hamble, offers an array of benefits to its valued membership. Explore the website to find out more about any of the below!

Clubhouse, Facilities & Access:
  • Access to Clubhouse & Facilities, including Upper Bar,Members’ Bar & River Room Restaurant
  • Ability to annually berth in Haven, RIB Berths, Dry Berth Park & Dinghy Park
  • Access to slipway and discounted (or free) use of onsite crane
  • Access to launch service for transporting to and from River Hamble river moorings

You may ask two existing Members of at least two years standing to propose and second you. Both the Proposer and Seconder must have been personally acquainted with you for at least six months. If you do not have a Proposer and Seconder, a member of the Sailing Committee will contact you to arrange an introductory meeting (often online) and the Executive Committee will approve your membership after six months. You can use and enjoy all the facilities of the Club in the meantime.

Members in the above categories who reside continuously outside the British Isles will pay 50% of the relevant age category – excluding Academy

  • Joining Fee will be agreed and set by the Executive Committee from time to time
  • Membership age categories relate to the age of the Primary Subscription Holder on the 1st September for the forthcoming year
  • An additional Spouse/ Partner will pay the same age related rate applicable to them. Their children under 17 are free. The 8 – 17 rate is for every child of a Single Parent who are full Members, or for Junior Members joining in their own right. Children under 8 are free.

Joining Fee:
From 31st March 2026, a one-time joining fee equivalent to 50% of the first year’s subscription will be applied.

Re-joining Fee:
If a member resigns their membership and then wishes to re-join within three years, there will be a fee charged equivalent to the applicable annual subscription for the relevant age category. This will be in addition to the annual subscription payable for the year.
