The Royal Southern Yacht Club are delighted to formally launch our sailing calendar for 2024. This is our most ambitious season ever and includes a wide and diverse range of racing and cruising events.

On the racing side, events include dinghy racing, league and match racing in our fleet of J/70s, one design and handicap fleet racing, passage racing, and more.

We are pleased to once again be hosting J-Cup and the X Yachts Solent Cup. We also welcome the J/70, Cape 31, RS21, and Etchells classes to the Club, as well as the RS elites for their UK National Championships. Some of our key Club events include our Passage Race Series, Denise Cartlidge Ladies Race, and Pursuit Race. We will once again be running WOKC – the UK’s only all-female keelboat regatta, as well as co-hosting the offshore Deauville Race. For the second year, the Southern will be running a shorthanded ‘4×4’ championships. We are pleased to announce ‘YachtFest’ – a one-off festival of music and sailing. The Royal Southern are very excited to be running a selection of high profile league and match racing events including a European Match Racing Tour event, and the British Keelboat League Finals for the third year in a row. In November, we are delighted to welcome the Optimist class back to Hamble for their Winter Championships.

Our flagship Summer Series once again consists of four regattas to be run in May, June, July, and September. More details will follow shortly but sailors can expect world class race management for a range of IRC and one design classes, along with unforgettable entertainment ashore.

The cruising and motorboat fraternities have this year combined forces to host a range of exciting cruises to Lymington, Bembridge, Cowes, and beyond. An exciting new ‘Mystery Cruise’ takes place on the late May Bank Holiday weekend. Our flagship summer cruise this year runs to Brittany.
