Job Title: Membership Services Coordinator
Location: Royal Southern Yacht Club, Hamble SO31 4HB
Position Type: Full-time (40 hours per week, ideally Wednesday to Sunday*, including occasional evenings) * Open to discussion, bearing in mind the seasonality of the business.
The Royal Southern Yacht Club is a prestigious, active sailing club based in the heart of Hamble. We are currently seeking a warm, professional, and highly organised Membership Services Coordinator to be the welcoming face of the Club and to support our membership and front-of-house operations.
About the Role
This is a key front-facing role where you’ll be the first point of contact for members, guests, and visitors. You will ensure a high standard of service at reception, assist with membership administration, and support the day-to-day operations of the Club. The position also involves working closely with other teams to help deliver a seamless and enjoyable member experience.
Key Responsibilities
Reception & Front Desk:
- Welcome all members, guests, and visitors in a friendly and professional manner
- Handle telephone and email enquiries promptly and courteously
- Provide accurate information on Club facilities, events, and services
- Manage guest sign-ins and ensure reception areas are tidy and presentable
Membership Services:
- Process new membership applications and renewals
- Maintain accurate records in the Club’s membership database
- Communicate with prospective members about membership categories, fees, and benefits
- Schedule and coordinate membership interviews and onboarding
- Collaborate with Club committee members
Administrative Support:
- Assist with general office duties, including post and deliveries
- Provide admin support to departments such as events, accounts, and sailing
- Welcome overnight guests and update our hotel management system as needed
- Liaise with the Housekeeping team to coordinate guest stays and room requirements
About You
- Experience in reception, customer service, or administrative roles
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with CRM or membership systems is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Confident, proactive, and able to work independently in a busy environment
- Discreet and professional when handling sensitive information
- Interest in sailing or experience in a membership club environment (desirable)
